It's the offseason, and it's the most bleak part of the offseason, where there truly is nothing going on. All teams have released their players into the wild of the offseason, letting them be free of any team activities and workouts for a few weeks until the real work starts in training camp. But, some players aren't stopping - some on the Las Vegas Raiders.

We know Maxx Crosby, the best defensive end in the league, never stops working, and that's a huge reason he is the player he is today. Some of his teammates have taken that and have added it to their offseason mentality. Some of those are the potential Week 1 starting quarterback.

O'Connell started half of the season last year when Antonio Pierce became head coach . He finished the year with the team just missing out on the playoffs, but

Aidan O'Connell is enjoying his offseason by going to some of the local events in Las Vegas, like the Las Vegas Aces basketball game against the Indiana Fever the other night. But, he made sure to let everyone know the work isn't stopping at all.

“We have a little downtime, but we’re still working, we can do both of those," O'Connell told Mike Dixon of Vegas Sports Today.

O'Connell is currently in a quarterback battle with Gardner Minshew, who is blowing the team away this offseason as well. Minshew is a veteran and has won a good handful of ball games during his career, and even almost got the Indianapolis Colts to the playoffs last season, too. So, O'Connell knows that it won't be easy getting that starting position in Week 1.

He is putting in crazy amounts of work this offseason and is showing why he feels he deserves the starting position. Sure, he can go and have fun, but the work isn't stopping. He seems to be adopting that mentality from others around him as he fights to remain the most important player on the Raiders as the QB.
