‘That’s why I stay in my house’ claims Shannon Sharpe after court side blunder at WNBA game is captured on camera

ESPN’S Shannon Sharpe has paid the price for an overzealous celebration at a WNBA game.

The NFL Hall of Famer lost his bracelet during Monday’s clash between the Las Vegas Aces and Indiana Fever .

Sharpe had plush courtside seats as he cheered on the Aces to an 88-69 win at the T-Mobile Arena.

The 56-year-old was seen wildly celebrating an A’ja Wilson bucket in viral footage circulated after the buzzer.

Sharpe punched the air in delight before pumping his arms up and down towards the ground.

But the First Take star’s bracelet perished due to his over-eager celebration.

Cameras caught it falling between his seat and disappearing down a crack in the aisle.

“That’s why I stay in my house,” Sharpe laughed on X as the footage went viral .

“I be 4getting[sic] I’m in public,” he added.

“You are way too famous for this man,” responded one fan.

“The passion!! We love to see it!!,” wrote another.

“Shannon was like where there heck did that bracelet go…..” giggled a third.

“Unc, that game had me lit on my couch so I KNOW what it was in the building,” said a fourth.

Following the game, Sharpe was clearly taken with Wilson’s performance and was spotted giving her a pep-talk on the court .

Wilson scored 28 points and collected 9 rebounds as Las Vegas improved to 11-6 on the season.

Sharpe spent 14 years in the NFL as a tight end for the Denver Broncos and the Baltimore Ravens .

Since retiring in 2003, he’s carved out a successful media career.

Shannon Sharpe was a three-time Super Bowl champion before his heavyweight media career.

The former tight end played in the NFL from 1990 until 2003 – mostly with the Denver Broncos.

He was part of the Super Bowl championship teams in 1998 and 1999 as well as the Baltimore Ravens’ title-winning team in 2001.

Sharpe was an eight-time Pro Bowler and voted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

He finished with 10,060 career receiving yards from 815 receptions with 62 touchdowns.

The ex-NFL star has had just as strong a career on television screens since retiring.

Sharpe spent almost a decade at FS1 on Undisputed alongside Skip Bayless .

He left the sports debate show last summer to join up with Stephen A. Smith on First Take.

Sharpe has been credited with “skyrocketing” the ratings of the ESPN show after showing “instant chemistry” with Stephen A.

The three-time Super Bowl champion recently penned a new four-year deal with the network.

It will see Sharpe’s two-day role on First Take increase, as well as his appearances on other ESPN programming.

Sharpe is currently enjoying a summer vacation from the show and last appeared on Monday.
