Kate Martin Receives Technical Foul After Scuffle Against Dallas Wings

The Las Vegas Aces advanced to 13-7 on the season after picking up a 104-85 victory against the Dallas Wings. Rookie Kate Martin finished the match with six points, three rebounds, and two assists in 11 minutes of game action. During the contest, the first-year athlete also picked up the first technical foul of her WNBA career.

Martin was involved in a scuffle against Odyssey Sims after the two were tangled up, and the rookie pushed her off. After the scuffle, they were assessed double technical fouls.

Sims seemed to have signaled at the sideline that she was hit by the Aces player, so the officiating crew acted accordingly.

Despite the play from Martin, the Aces were all smiles after the game. Las Vegas star A'ja Wilson secured franchise history after she scored her 4,301st point, becoming the all-time leading scorer for the Aces.

Martin has been a solid role player for the Aces all season. The second-round pick has averaged 3.6 points and 2.1 rebounds in 15.5 minutes of game action for the back-to-back defending champions.

Her numbers don't jump off the stat sheet, but she's been able to impact both ends of the floor at an efficient level.

Las Vegas is listed as the No. 2 team in the Western Conference standings, jumping the Seattle Storm after the victory over the Wings. They're one of the hottest teams in the league, winning eight of their last 10 games.
