M ore than a month after the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef came to an embarrassingly tragic end, Lil Wayne has finally spoken.

Many assumed that Wayne, who discovered Drake more than a decade ago, would have the 6 God’s back, but his silence and that of much of the industry spoke volumes.

But now he’s made his allegiance clear during a weekend performance at Zouk Nightclub in Las Vegas as part of his official Vegas residency.

It began with the beat  from his 2011 collab with Drake’s “The Motto” playing, but instead of hopping into his verse, he sang the chorus from “Not Like Us.” However, he had a smirk on his show, and if you zoom in on the video as he says K. Dot’s lyrics, you can see him waving the owl pendant he’s wearing around his neck. Of course, the owl logo is Drake’s, derived from the acronym of October’s Very Own, OVO, which looks like an owl face.

At first, Wayne’s stunt could have been interpreted as a slur toward either artist, but internet sleuths confirmed that he changed the lyrics to “They don’t like us.”

This isn’t the first time Wayne’s been tossed into the beef since Kendrick name-dropped him in “Not Like Us,” remarking on the time Drake slept with his girlfriend when he was serving a one-year prison sentence at Rikers Island for weapons charges.

“F-cked on Wayne girl while he was in jail, that’s connivin’/ Then get his face tatted like a b-tch apologizin,’” Kendrick rapped.

Wayne himself brought up the awkward instance between his labelmate upon getting released from jail and dropped a book on his ordeal entitled Gone ‘Til November: A Journal of Rikers Island.

“I woke up still feeling fucked up about the fucked-up day that I had. Hell is what it was! I’m used to arguing with my girl [daily], but finding out that she fucked Drake was the absolute worst thing I could’ve found out,” he wrote.

The beef appears to have fizzled down, but now things are heightened once again. See how social media reacted below.
