Raiders WR Davante Adams Lands Massive Ranking For 2024

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams may have begun to show some signs of decline last season, but he is still highly regarded around the NFL.

In a recent poll conducted by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler (h/t Bleacher Report’s Scott Polacek), NFL executives, coaches and scouts ranked the top 10 receivers in football.

    Adams came in fifth.

Only Justin Jefferson, Tyreek Hill, Ja’Marr Chase and CeeDee Lamb were ranked in front of him.

Adams hauled in 103 receptions for 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns in 2023, but he failed to make the Pro Bowl for the first time since 2016.

The 31-year-old had not only made six straight Pro Bowl appearances prior to last year, but he had also earned three consecutive First-Team All-Pro selections.

Adams led the league in receiving touchdowns twice between 2020 and 2022, topping out at 18 in the former campaign. He achieved a career-high 1,553 yards in 2021.

The Fresno State product spent the first eight years of his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers before being traded to the Raiders in March 2022.

Will the Raiders trade Davante Adams in 2024?

Speculation has been swirling that the Raiders could ultimately trade Adams this season, and the superstar wide out hasn’t exactly helped the situation by saying that he and New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers still talk about reuniting.

Adams’ agent has called the rumors “baseless,” but that certainly won’t stop people from conjuring up different trade scenarios.

Adams expressed frustration in Las Vegas multiple times last year, although he seemed to be assuaged during the second half of the season when Antonio Pierce took over for Josh McDaniels as head coach.

Still, Adams surely doesn’t want to continue toiling away with a losing franchise in the latter stages of his NFL career.

The Raiders went just 8-9 in 2023 and don’t exactly resemble contenders heading into 2024. If Las Vegas gets off to a rough start, it stands to reason that Adams could request to be dealt by the deadline in October.

It should be noted that Adams is under contract with the Raiders through 2026, so the club does not have to be in any rush to move him.

That being said, if Adams insists that Las Vegas trades him, the organization may ultimately give in to his demands and jettison him for some draft capital (which wouldn’t be the worst idea for the Raiders anyway).

We’ll see what becomes of Davante Adams in Sin City in the coming months.
