Republic Services to pick up trash, recycling early to combat heat

LAS VEGAS ( KLAS ) — Republic Services announced Wednesday it would be adjusting its collection schedule starting next week in response to the valley’s extreme heat.

According to Republic Services , starting on Monday, July 22, collection of trash and recycling will begin an hour earlier than usual.

Republic Services strongly encouraged residents to place their bins out the night before their scheduled collection day.

The company said in a release Wednesday that this change will help prioritize the safety of their employees during extreme temperatures.

“Republic Services appreciates the community’s patience and understanding as we work to maintain essential services while prioritizing the well-being of our employees during this period of extreme heat,” the release stated.
