President Joe Biden provided a health update after he tested positive for Covid-19 just before he was due to take the stage in Las Vegas . A post on X shows the President, maskless and giving a thumbs up to reporters on the tarmac, boarding Air Force One shortly after the White House announced his positive Covid-19 test in Las Vegas, Nevada. "I feel good," he responded to reporters' inquiries about his health.

The news was met with audible shock from those present. Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre confirmed that while his symptoms are mild, Biden will return home to Delaware, where he will "self-isolate and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time."

Biden began showing symptoms, including a cough and runny nose, earlier in the day. He does not have a fever, reports the Express US . Dr Kevin O'Connor, the president's physician, noted that Biden "presented this afternoon with upper respiratory symptoms, to include rhinorrhea (runny nose) and non-productive cough, with general malaise."

Biden has been prescribed the antiviral drug Paxlovid and has taken his first dose, according to O'Connor. Before testing positive, Biden was at the Original Lindo Michoacan restaurant in Las Vegas, where he was greeting diners ahead of a scheduled interview with Univision.

Instead, he sat down with NBC Nightly News' Lester Holt on Monday evening, where Biden revealed the conversation he had with Trump following the shooting. He also addressed the concerns expressed by many about his well-being and advancing years, insisting he's not bowing out of the contest. Earlier on Wednesday, Biden had declared he'd only drop out over a "medical condition."

Just yesterday, Biden hit back at Trump during a speech in Las Vegas at the NAACP conference, slamming Trump's bizarre and contentious remarks about "black jobs" from the first TV debate, while also boasting about the diversity within his team. Rumors have also surfaced that Biden was under the weather during last month's calamitous CNN debate.
