Top recruits from Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, and Notre Dame pitch to five star wide receiver set to commit

In a rather bizarre, public pitch to five star wide receiver Derek Meadows on Friday, high profile incoming 2025 recruits reached out to him via prepared videos as they made their case for him to join their respective college football programs. Meadows, a five star stud wide receiver from the storied Bishop Gorman high school football program in Las Vegas, NV is set to commit to his future college home on Saturday.

Top tier recruits make their pitch

247Sports shared the compilation of video pitches (seen in post below) made to Derek Meadows as top programs around the country are desperate for his rare combination of size, speed, and ball skills at the wide receiver position.

Top tier Notre Dame quarterback commit Deuce Knight who just won the OT7 Championships MVP this summer made the most elaborate pitch by saying:

"Coach Freeman, I don't even got to say too much about Coach Freeman. You know what's up with him. He loves you. He's going to care for you. He's going to fight for you...Coach [Mike] Denbrock, you already know about his offense [LSU's in 2023]. It's explosive, and he'll get his receivers the ball. He wants to take the deep shots...[At Notre Dame], we play on national television...we play out of the country...and with a guy like me too...we can help each other...feel like we could be the best duo in the country.

Knight has been rising up recruiting boards himself and needs a difference making wide receiver to pair with him as he potentially becomes the starter right away for the Fighting Irish.

Damien Shanklin, a recent four star LSU Tigers commit kept it simple, promoting his bond with Meadows personally, pushing for how much LSU needs him, and how badly he needs to come to "The Bayou".

Michigan's top four star tight end recruit Eli Owens hopped on making a goofy push talking about all the swag Wolverines players get, plus "winning a lot", which was kind of funny, but weak.

Both Keelon Russell and Ryan Montgomery (top quarterback recruits for Alabama and Georgia) made excellent pitches. Which is admittedly easy to do for those two programs given their track records over the last decade. They both talked up the importance of playing with the best, against the best, and the opportunity to win national championships.

Keelon Russell might be the fastest rising hype machine of a quarterback in the nation . He's fresh off back to back Texas high school football state championships and an Elite 11 MVP performance this summer. And Ryan Montgomery obliterated records set by Ben Roethlisberger at his his high school . Every top talent seems to be vying for Derek Meadows' services right now.

Meadows, a 6'5" beast of a playmaker who somehow has more scholarship offers than catches made last fall, will be announcing to the world where he'll be taking his talents this Saturday July 20th at 2pm CT. He's gone back and forth for months, with his lean changing from Notre Dame, to Alabama, and now to LSU from what I'm hearing. Unless something changes expect Meadows to be an LSU Tiger, but there have been some big surprises on the recruiting trail in recent weeks.
