Las Vegas Raiders Playmaker Earns Massive Prediction For 2024

The Las Vegas Raiders lost one of their best offensive weapons this offseason, as running back Josh Jacobs departed via free agency.

But perhaps one other halfback on the Raiders’ roster will make it so Jacobs isn’t sorely missed.

Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay has dubbed Zamir White one of four potential breakout candidates at the running back position heading into 2024, citing White’s strong showing late last season as reason to believe he could set the world ablaze come September.

White, who played his collegiate football at the University of Georgia, was selected by the Raiders in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

He barely played during his rookie campaign, carrying the ball just 17 times for 70 yards.

On the surface, White’s numbers for 2023 don’t look that great either. After all, he totaled just 451 yards and a touchdown, averaging 4.3 yards per carry.

However, 397 of those yards came between Weeks 14 and 18, where he logged 4.7 yards per attempt.

White had two monster performances specifically, racking up 145 and 112 yards, respectively, in Weeks 16 and 18.

Given Las Vegas’ rather unenviable offensive situation, it definitely needs big-time production from White this coming season.

Where will the Raiders’ offense come from?

The Raiders ranked 27th in the NFL in offense last season, so it wasn’t like they were a great offensive team in 2023, anyway.

However, after Jacobs’ departure, you have to wonder where the bulk of Las Vegas’ offensive production will come from.

Obviously, the Raiders have one of the game’s best wide receivers in Davante Adams, although the 31-year-old did show some signs of decline last year.

Las Vegas also selected tight end Brock Bowers with the 13th overall pick of the NFL Draft in April, landing who some felt was actually the top overall talent in the class.

The problem is that the Raiders may not have anyone to consistently get their pass-catchers the football.

Aidan O’Connell is probably the favorite to open the season under center, but free-agent addition Gardner Minshew is sure to provide him with some stiff competition in training camp.

Neither option is particularly appealing, although O’Connell did show some flashes late last season when he totaled eight passing touchdowns and no interceptions over his last four games.

Perhaps White can make the quarterback’s job a heck of a lot easier.
