Update: The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Gerald Harvey, Jr., 29, of Las Vegas.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man was found shot to death in a southwest Las Vegas valley apartment complex Tuesday afternoon, according to Metro police.

Around 1 p.m. police responded to a report of a man who was shot in an apartment complex in the 8900 block of Warm Springs Road near South Durango Drive.

When officers arrived, several residents flagged them down and directed them to a dumpster enclosure where they found the victim lying on the ground. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police said the victim lived at the apartment complex and was getting ready to get in his vehicle to leave when one to two suspects came up and shot him. The suspect then got into a car and left the scene before officers arrived.

The shooting appeared to be targeted and was not random, police said.
