2Pac Murder Suspect Keefe D Lashes Out At The Prosecution In Epic Courtroom Rant

Duane ‘Keefe D’ Davis, a suspect in the 1996 murder of rap icon Tupac Shakur, had an epic outburst in open court during a recent hearing regarding his request to be granted bail.

On Tuesday (July 23), Davis appeared before Judge Carli Kierny in Las Vegas Judicial Court amid Kierny’s concerns regarding the source of Davis’ bail, a $112,500 bond submitted by Cash “Wack 100” Jones.

Kierny’s reservations regarding the bail request stemmed from a recorded conversation between Davis and Jones, in which the latter stated that he had “spoken to television ‘big wigs'” and that his “priority” is for Davis to film ten episodes for a potential reality TV show prior to his murder trial.

At one point during the proceedings, Davis began to lash out at the prosecution, as well as former Los Angeles Police Department detective Greg Kading, regarding new evidence filed by the state, which includes a taped confession of Davis’ involvement in Shakur’s death. “They are not only ugly on the outside but they are ugly on the inside,” Davis said of Chief Deputy District Attorneys Marc DiGiacomo and Binu Palal.

The described “Godfather of Compton” then began to express his disdain for Kading, believed to be the source of the newfound evidence implicating him in the fatal drive-by of the rap star. Davis argued that the “boxes” of evidence against him were kept in Kading’s personal possession for over a decade, affecting its credibility. This would seemingly make it inadmissible in court.

“Greg Kading had them boxes in his house for 15 years in his attic doing all kind of TV interviews,”
the 61-year-old said. “Them boxes should not be allowed…it is tainted evidence. The man broke a proffer agreement.”

He also accused Kading — who’s spoken on the investigation surrounding Shakur’s murder on numerous occasions — of writing a book about engaging in criminal activity. “And he broke the law,” Davis charged. “All kinds of stuff. A federal judge in LA did a 142-page thing about it. Look it up on the internet.”

Davis’ rant became even more impassioned as he went on, accusing the state of involving his personal family in the case. “They did my daughter first, then my son, and they just did my wife in the last papers. These two dudes right here,” he said, referring to Palal and DiGiacomo.

In regards to Davis’ aforementioned proffer, which he supposedly agreed to prior to his taped conversations with Kading, and other evidence, Judge Kierny informed the defendant that he’s yet to decide which evidence will be admissible or excluced from being used at trial.

Kierny also suggested that Carl Arnold, Davis’ lawyer, considers filing a motion regarding the existence of a proffer. “At this point there is nothing before me to exclude any sort of evidence,” Kierny told Davis and his counsel.

Davis was arrested and charged with Shakur’s murder in 2023, and has remained incarcerated since. He has admitted to providing the gun used to kill Shakur and being present at the time of his murder. Davis has plead not guilty and has maintained his innocence. He faces life imprisonment if convicted.

Judge Kierny did not come to a decision regarding Davis’ request for bail, stating that he will reconsider the matter in the coming days.
