Using her love for power ballads, Celine Dion is considered one of the most talented singers in music. Throughout her prosperous career, the star released hits like “I’m Your Angel”, “That’s the Way It Is”, and “I’m Alive.” Her last album, Courage, released back in 2019 with fans praising the singer once again. But her career took a sudden shift over the last few years when she was diagnosed with stiff person syndrome. While continuing to struggle with the disease, it appears that the “Queen of the Power Ballads” is looking to make a return to Las Vegas.

With the 2024 Paris Olympics kicking off in just a few days, fans are anxiously awaiting the opening ceremonies. Although wanting to celebrate their country and cheer them on, rumors circulated that Dion would perform at the event. And given her stardom, it seems the production paid a whopping sum to get her. While her first performance in some time, it might not be her last.

According to TMZ, Dion is in the final stages of confirming her return to Las Vegas. While nothing is set in stone, an insider insisted, “It’s basically a done deal. She’s doing it.” Another source continued, “She has a passion for getting back onstage, and she’s gonna do it.”

Celine Dion Continues To Fight Stiff Person Syndrome

Taking a trip back to 2003, Dion took over Vegas with her show A New Day. Running from 2003 to 2007, the show became the highest-grossing residence in the history of Vegas. But what about her illness?

Discussing her struggles with stiff person syndrome, Dion gave a glimpse into how she fights back. She told Vogue France, “Five days a week I undergo athletic, physical and vocal therapy. I work on my toes, my knees, my calves, my fingers, my singing, my voice… I have to learn to live with it now and stop questioning myself.”

Not willing to give up, Dion declared, “People who suffer from SPS may not be lucky enough or have the means to have good doctors and good treatments. I have those means, and this is a gift. What’s more, I have this strength within me. I know that nothing is going to stop me.”
