A 25-year-old male was transported to a local hospital, where he later died due to injuries sustained in the incident, the release said.

A man in LaSalle County is dead following an incident involving illegal fireworks, according to the LaSalle County Sheriff's Department. Deputies responded to a call in the 3000 block of E 12th Road in Ottawa at approximately 12:26am Friday morning. The Utica Fire Department and EMS also responded to the scene. A 25-year-old man was transported to OSF St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ottawa where he later died due to injuries sustained from the accident. The victim's name has not been released at this time pending further investigation and notification of next of kin.
