Chicago to offer business education to entrepreneurs in a free remote expo

If you're a small business owner or entrepreneur in Chicago, June 22 is your chance to soak up free business education.

CHICAGO— The city of Chicago will provide business education to small business owners and entrepreneurs through a free expo. The Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP) announced the "BACP Remote Small Business Expo" will be held Thursday, June 22, from 9:00 am-12:30 pm.

As a remote expo, the purpose is to "provide current business owners and future entrepreneurs valuable insights into various aspects of starting and running a business, including business licensing, marketing strategies, financial management, and customer engagement."

Attendees will get a chance to participate and ask questions through interactive webinars. Newly inaugurated Mayor, Brandon Johnson, said he is committed to supporting small business communities in Chicago.

"Chicago's small businesses are integral components of our communities, and I'm committed to supporting them in any way I can throughout my administration," Johnson said. "Thank you to the team at BACP for their great work in providing educational programming for our budding local entrepreneurs."

According to a press release, the keynote address will feature Chef Ambrocio Gonzalez of La Catederal Cafe & Restaurant in Little Village. Gonzalez said he looks forward to sharing his experience: "As an immigrant and a business owner, I want to share my journey to inspire others to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams."

The "BACP Remote Small Business Expo" will start with a welcome address at 9:00 am, followed by a segment on launching a business in the city at 9:15 am, and so on. You can register for the free expo by visiting Chicago.gov/BizExpo.
