4 positive takeaways from Bears season opener loss

Let it all out, Bears fans. This is not the outcome fans wanted to start the season— especially against rivals Green Bay. With the departure of Aaron Rodgers, many thought this game would be an easy win. Yet Jordan Love and the Packers dominated, unfortunately. The Chicago Bears are 0-1; they join the Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals, Minnesota Vikings, and more with their first loss of the season. But aside from the loss and questionable plays, there were a few positive takeaways.

The 38-20 final score may be a downer, but these takeaways should lift spirits and create optimism for the rest of the season.

    • Darnell Mooney is BACK.

There's something about that 1 to 11 chemistry that gets you pumped. During last year's game against the Jets, Darnell Mooney suffered a broken ankle and had surgery. The wide receiver spent the off-season recovering and was determined to return at his best. He scored the only touchdown by a Bears wide receiver in today's game.

    • 2. Roschon Johnson got his first NFL touchdown.

The rookie running back had tough runs during the preseason and brought that energy in today's game, which resulted in his first NFL touchdown. The Bears will need more of his "angry run" this season.

    • 3. Yannick Ngakoue got his first sack as a Bear.

Look forward to many more sacks coming from this veteran sack machine.

    • 4. DJ Moore, Khalil Herbert, Justin Fields, and more will still be fun to watch this season.

Although there weren't many significant throws, and DJ Moore wasn't targeted enough, there should still be optimism for these players and the team. More could've been done to win this game, yet let's not count the Bears out. As much of a blow as it is losing to Green Bay (for what seems like the millionth time), many games are left to play.
