21-year-old Woman Shot 11 Times in Auburn Gresham
As temperatures rise in Chicago, so are shootings, with the latest being a 21-year-old woman killed while confronting robbers at a residence in Auburn Gresham. According to FOX 32, the shooting happened in the 7500 block of South Wolcott Street. The woman approached the residence's garage while it was being robbed and attempted to confront the offenders, and one pulled out a weapon and fired several shots at the victim. She was hit in the chest, back, and arm and pronounced dead at the scene.
Man Killed in Gold Coast Hotel Shooting, 2 Women Shot in River North
An unknown man was shot to death inside a Gold Coast hotel Sunday morning, police said. According to WGN, officials said the victim was discovered unresponsive at approximately 5 a.m. at Sonesta E-S Suites in the 200 block of East Walton. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
42 Shot, 8 Fatally in Chicago Weekend Shootings
Forty-two people were shot, eight fatally, in weekend shootings across Chicago. According to WGN, the latest shooting of the violent weekend happened in Edgewater. Two people were wounded during an altercation Sunday night. Police said three individuals were involved in the incident in the 6000 block of North Winthrop Avenue around 10:50 p.m. One person revealed a weapon and fired shots aiming toward the other individuals. Both victims, a 45-year-old man, and a 34-year-old man, were hit by the gunfire. The 45-year-old victim is in critical condition at St.Francis Hospital after being shot in the chest. The 34-year-old victim was hit in the right leg and taken to St. Francis Hospital in good condition.

After being shot by police in the Pullman neighborhood Friday evening, a man is in critical condition. According to NBC Chicago, the incident happened near East 113th Street and South Langley Avenue. At around 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a call of a man with a gun. As they arrived, the suspect aimed his weapon at officers, and at least one officer shot the individual, authorities said.

Free gas giveaways are far from over in Chicago. Mayoral candidate Willie Wilson just announced his third giveaway. If you missed the first two, mark your calendars because it will take place this Saturday in the city and a few surrounding suburbs. According to ABC 7 News, Dolton, Hillside, and Cicero, among many more, are included. Like the other two free gas giveaways, it will start at 7 a.m. 30 gas stations will be participating, including 15 in Chicago and 15 in the suburbs. Chicago Police Officer Injured During Traffic Stop
A Chicago Police officer is in the hospital after being struck by a stolen vehicle while attempting to stop the driver in the South Loop neighborhood Saturday night. ABC 7 News reports that officers spotted a stolen Saturn Sedan at approximately 9 p.m. and attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Grant Park. The vehicle fled but had to come to a halt due to traffic, and that's when officers exited their cars on foot, police said.
Couple Found Dead in Uptown Senior Home
Chicago police are investigating the deaths of a man, and a woman found dead inside their apartment in a senior home in the Uptown neighborhood. According to NBC Chicago, police responded to a well-being check on Sunday at approximately 8:30 p.m. at an apartment building in the 1000 block of West Montrose Ave. They located two individuals, a 79-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman, dead in the apartment's bedroom.
Man Shot on CTA Bus After Argument
As violence continues to flood the streets of Chicago, incidents on Chicago Transit Authority are rising as well after a man was shot on a bus on Sunday. According to ABC 7 News, an argument transpired between the victim and another passenger on a bus in Lawndale's 700 block of South Pulaski. Chicago police said multiple shots were fired around 12:15 a.m., and the victim, a 31-year-old man, was struck in the right leg. The CTA bus driver halted the bus after hearing the gunshots, and the offender exited the bus and fled north.

The Chicago Police department is investigating the deaths of a family in the Morgan Park neighborhood. On Tuesday, ABC 7 reported that the family was found dead inside their home near West 113th Street and South Green Street during a well-being check. CPD revealed that a woman in her eighties was found dead on the residence's first floor with a gunshot wound to her head. Another victim, a 64-year-old woman, was found on the home's first floor with a gunshot wound to her right torso. The third victim was found in the second-floor bedroom with a gunshot wound in the right torso.
Two 80-year-old Men Shot In Separate Shootings in Chicago
When it comes to gun violence in Chicago, a rising number of elderly adults are getting shot, as two men in their eighties were wounded in separate shootings. CBS News reports that an 82-year-old man was wounded while standing on a sidewalk in the North Austin neighborhood. The victim was in the 1700 block of North Monitor when an unknown offender shot him. He suffered a graze wound to his right leg and was taken to West Suburban Hospital in good condition.

Chicago citizens will soon be able to apply to receive $150 in free gas and $50 in public transportation cards at the end of April. On Thursday, Mayor Lightfoot's office announced that the proposed program, Chicago Moves, will help residents navigate as gas prices continue to increase. According to AAA, Illinois residents' pockets are hurting the most during inflation, paying an average of $4.46 a gallon for gas compared to the national average of $4.23.
