Film location manager Kojo Lewis tells L.A. TACO that the 1998 movie Colors was dropped in his lap when he got a call from a colleague. Lewis recalls the contact telling him, “I’ve got a feature that I’m working on and I’ve got a lot of locations. We’re going to be filming in South L.A. and different locations around the L.A. area.”

Suspended Los Angeles City Councilmember Mark Ridley-Thomas was convicted of federal bribery and conspiracy charges, along with mail and wire fraud, stemming from his time serving on the county Board of Supervisors. Ridley-Thomas faced 19 counts in total. He was found not guilty of 11 counts relating to wire fraud.

A California Highway Patrol sergeant and six CHP officers were charged with involuntary manslaughter and assault under the color of authority in the death of a Burbank man who was restrained after refusing to have his blood drawn following a traffic stop in the Golden State (5) Freeway, District Attorney George Gascón announced Wednesday.
