Wildfire East Of Kendrick At 150 Acres
A wildfire in the Potlatch River Canyon East of Kendrick has forced evacuations of residents in Southeastern Latah County. The blaze started around 4:00 in Monday afternoon and has burned about 150 acres. Residents in the Texas Ridge, Cedar Ridge, Linden and Sundstrom Roads along with State Highway 3 evacuated. About 60 structures are threatened by the fire.
Evacuations Ordered Near Texas Fire Near Kendrick
A wildfire burning near Kendrick has forced many to evacuate. According to a news release from the Idaho Department of Lands, areas on Cedar Ridge, Texas Ridge, Linden, all the way down Highway 3 and across the river have been advised to evacuate and/or have been evacuated. P1 and Texas Ridge is closed. Fifty to sixty structures remain threatened. Evacuations are being handled by the Latah County Sheriff’s office with the assistance of Latah County Emergency Management.
4 Primary Structures Destroyed In Texas Ridge Fire Near Kendrick
UPDATE: An additional structure has been lost, bringing the total to four. The Texas Ridge Fire East of Kendrick has destroyed four primary structures. An Idaho Department of Lands spokesman was unable to provide any more details about the structures that were destroyed. The fire has burned about 1,500 acres. The cause of the fire is undetermined.

LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewiston Roundup is providing temporary housing for animals affected by the Texas Fire in Latah County. They posted on Facebook that owners can bring their animals that need a safe place to stay. Owners are responsible for identifying their animals by using photos of them and providing contact information.

KENDRICK, ID—The Texas Fire east of Kendrick grew slightly today, from 1,200 acres to 1,323 acres. A passerby reported it at around 5:45 p.m. Evacuations for Cedar Ridge, Texas Ridge, Linden, all the way down Highway 3, and across the river are still in effect. P1 and Texas Ridge remain closed. The Latah County Sheriff’s Office is handling evacuations with the assistance of Latah County Emergency Management. Update July 18 at 11 a.m. - The Latah County Sheriff's Office provided an update stating that now over 1,500 acres are burning with no progress on containment.
Fire leads to evacuation near Kendrick
KENDRICK — A wildfire that prompted an evacuation and sent a huge plume of smoke into the sky ignited Monday afternoon in Latah County near Kendrick. The Texas Fire grew to 150 acres east of Kendrick as of 7:30 p.m. Monday, according to the Idaho Department of Lands, although fire activity decreased some in the evening as temperatures cooled. The fire was at 0% containment as of 9:40 p.m., according to an updated news release from the department. The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined.

The Texas Ridge Fire north and east of Kendrick has grown to 1,200 acres and evacuations remain in place, according to a news release from the Idaho Department of Lands. The Fire is burning in the Cedar and Texas Ridge areas. The Latah County Sheriff’s Office has issued Level 3, 2 and 1 evacuation notices. Level 3 means go now.
