Bryan Kohberger Trial Update: What to Expect During Thursday’s Hearing
Quadruple murder suspect Bryan Kohberger will appear Thursday in court, where a number of topics are expected to be addressed. "A scheduled hearing is set for June 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. PT. This hearing will be open to the public and will be live streamed on the Court's YouTube channel," a court document filed in Latah County, Idaho, said.

Convicted Killer Dale Shackleford Wins Idaho Supreme Court Appeal, Will Still Serve Two Consecutive Life Sentences
BOISE, ID – A 62-year-old man convicted of killing two people near Kendrick in 1999 has won an appeal and will see his case remanded to Latah County Second District Court for further proceedings consistent with the Idaho Supreme Court Criminal Opinion that was issued last week. In 2000, Dale Shackleford was convicted by a jury of shooting his ex-wife, 44-year-old Donna Fontaine, and her boyfriend, 59-year-old Fred Palahniuk, to death at a remote property and then burning their bodies in a garage to cover up the murders. He was also convicted of First-Degree Arson, Conspiracy to Commit Arson, and Preparing False Evidence. During his trial, the prosecution contended that Shackelford killed Fontaine to escape a 30-year-to-life sentence on rape charges she had filed against him in Missouri.
31-Year-Old Clarkston Man Sentenced For Leading Latah County Sheriff’s Deputy on Car Chase Out of Troy
MOSCOW - A 31-year-old Clarkston man has been sentenced for leading a Latah County Sheriff’s Deputy on a dangerous vehicle pursuit out of Troy. Jonathan Owens was sentenced this week to probation for three years by Latah County Second District Court Judge John Judge. Owens previously pleaded guilty to felony eluding. He was arrested in January when he failed to pull over for a deputy while he was riding a dirt bike in Troy. Owens led the deputy on a chase on State Highway 8 at nearly 90 MPH before he drove into a field and was taken into custody. He spent 71 days in jail after his arrest.
Kohberger trial scheduled for June 2025
MOSCOW — Bryan Kohberger’s jury trial is set for June 2, 2025, according to a scheduling order filed by Latah County District Judge John Judge on Thursday. The trial is expected to run until Aug. 29, 2025, but not during the federal holidays of June 19 or July 4.
