ISU Mourns Loss of Hall of Famer Mike Stensrud
Iowa State University mourns the passing of Mike Stensrud, a Hall of Fame defensive player, who died at the age of 68. Stensrud was pivotal in transforming the Cyclones’ football program during his tenure from 1974-78, helping the team secure bowl invitations in both 1977 and 1978. Renowned for his imposing presence on the field, Stensrud recorded 306 tackles and led the Big Eight in sacks during his junior year. His influence extended beyond his playing days, with a legacy upheld by his family members who also participated in ISU athletics.
Centennial Football aiming for another trip to dome
ANKENY – The Centennial Jaguars made it all the way to the semifinals of the 5A postseason last year and are aiming for another trip to the dome this year. The Jags went just 5-4 in the regular season, earning the 13 seed in the playoffs. Centennial lost in the semifinals to rival Ankeny 10-7.

Iowa school districts receive grants for therapeutic classrooms
The Iowa Department of Education is issuing its fourth round of competitive grants to ten school districts in the state to establish or continue therapeutic classrooms. Clinton and North Scott Community School Districts are receiving a portion of the $2.85 million for the 2024-2025 school year. Clinton is collecting $146,000, and North Scott is accepting $174,500.
