Mayor Tucker announces new decorative welcome markers
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – On Monday, Mayor Sharon Tucker, the City of Fort Wayne’s Public Works and Community Development divisions and Design Collaborative unveiled concepts for sculptural markers to be constructed at several of Fort Wayne’s vehicular gateway locations, in order to create inviting landmark entrances into the community.

Northern Indiana Forecast: Showers and Thunderstorms Expected Today Through Wednesday
Fort Wayne, IN – Showers and thunderstorms are expected to impact Northern Indiana later today and continue through Wednesday. The US National Weather Service Northern Indiana reports that the best chances for severe weather will occur on Wednesday. Today’s high temperatures are forecasted to range between 79-85°F, with periodic showers and thunderstorms throughout the afternoon. Tonight, temperatures will drop to 63-67°F with continued storm potential.
Crews battle abandoned house fire
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Fire crews responded to an abandoned house fire on Fort Wayne’s east side, near New Haven, early Tuesday morning. The fire broke out at a house near the intersection of Waverly Drive and Prize Street around 1:15 a.m. Officials with the New Haven Fire Department told WANE 15 that the fire was fully involved upon their arrival. Fire crews knew the house was vacant, so they prioritized getting the blaze under control above saving the structure. No injuries were reported.

City to hold public meeting about North Clinton Street improvements
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Fort Wayne officials are inviting the residents to attend a public meeting about the North Clinton Street Improvements Project. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss a roadway that can “effectively accommodate future traffic volumes and operate at an acceptable level of service during the design year of 2048, and to increase connectivity of pedestrian facilities.” The meeting will answer questions about the project location and anticipated schedule.

Kokomo Probationary Officer Terminated, Arrested Following Investigations
An internal investigation alongside a state police investigation led to the termination and arrest of a former Kokomo Police Department probationary officer. On July 1, Kokomo Police Department Chief Douglas Stout was reportedly contacted by a separate law enforcement agency in reference to a criminal allegation that involved a probationary officer at the Kokomo Police Department, which reportedly led the administration of the department to immediately contact the Indiana State Police to investigate the allegation. According to the department, Stout and the Professional Standards Unit initiated an internal investigation alongside the report to the state police.
