Sergeant rescues kitten trapped in car bumper
PEMBROKE PINES, Florida — A Pembroke Pines police sergeant rescued a kitten trapped inside a car bumper while on his lunch break. Sergeant Mike Matthis noticed a cat paw swatting from inside a nearby car's bumper and discovered a kitten wedged behind the grating. With the car owner's permission, Matthis cut open the bumper to free the cat, according to the Pembroke Pines Police Department.

The FAA is investigating after a Southwest Airlines plane flew dangerously close to the ocean last month.
