Laurel Co. sheriff searching for missing teen possibly in Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing teen who may be attempting to travel to Bowling Green. The sheriff’s office says that Aiden Vanderpool, 17, was last seen off Johnson Road in London at 6 pm on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.
3 people arrested in ‘huge drug busts’ in Laural County
(WKYT) – Three people are facing charges in connection with what’s being described as “huge drug busts.”. According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, an operation by the Laurel County Drug Interdiction Task Force and DEA resulted in the dismantling of a large-scale drug trafficking organization spanning several states that was supplying large amounts of crystal meth to Laurel and Clay Counties.
London Man Arrested for DUI, Meth Possession and 6 Warrants
Laurel County Sheriff John Root says Deputy Bobby Roberts, while on patrol on South Laurel Road, pulled over a motorcycle that had no license plate on it. During the stop, the driver, 31-year-old Justin Helton of London, was determined to be under the influence. Helton gave police a false name multiple times before giving his actual name. Helton was found to have six outstanding warrants. He was also found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Helton was arrested and in addition to the warrants was charged with DUI, giving an officer false identifying information, possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia, theft of identity of another without consent, operating on suspended or revoked operator’s license, failure to maintain required insurance and no registration plates. He was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
