One Kentucky food festival was recently named the best in the state, and it's actually a perfect fit for the Bluegrass State. When you think of Kentucky one of the first things that might pop into your head is fried chicken. The two are synonymous with each other thanks to the fast food giant, Kentucky Fried Chicken. Colonel Harland Sanders, the founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken, is from (and founded KFC) in Laurel County, Kentucky. So naturally, the state of Kentucky would embrace its fried chicken heritage with a big festival, right?

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: The London–Laurel County Accident Reconstruction Team comprised of Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Brad Mink and Deputy Joe Breeding along with London City Police officer Hobie Daugherty and Lt. Ryan Jackson investigated a single vehicle traffic fatality Monday in Laurel County.
KSP Announce Traffic Safety Checkpoints
The Kentucky State Police Post 11 in London, which provides coverage for Clay, Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Wayne and Whitley counties, has announced they will be conducting periodic traffic safety checkpoints at various locations. The checkpoints are an effort to enforce traffic laws, especially seatbelt adherence, sobriety, insurance and registration violations. Police Release Identity of Woman Killed in Fatal Crash in Laurel County
Laurel County Sheriff John Root and London Police Chief Chuck Johnson report an investigation into a fatal crash. The crash happened Monday on US 25 about 7 miles South of London. Deputy Brad Mink, Deputy Joe Breeding and London Police Officers Hobie Daugherty and Lt. Ryan Jackson of the London – Laurel County Accident Reconstruction Team report that apparently a motorcycle was traveling north on US 25 when it lost control ejecting the driver and passenger. The driver, 54-year-old Randy Schenk, of Corbin, was flown to UK Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. The passenger, 48-year-old Sherry Schenk, of Corbin, was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph-London where she was later pronounced dead. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The London – Laurel County Accident Reconstruction Team comprised of Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Brad Mink and Deputy Joe Breeding along with London City Police officer Hobie Daugherty and Lt. Ryan Jackson investigated a single vehicle single traffic fatality which occurred on US 25 approximately 7 miles South of London on Monday evening July 1, 2024 at approximately 5:03 PM. Investigators report that apparently a 2007 Honda motorcycle was traveling northbound on US 25 when it lost control ejecting the male driver and female passenger.
