Milton majors force winner-take-all game against Lewes
The Milton majors all-star team forced a winner-take-all game for the District 3 title after completing a come-from-behind 6-5 win over Lewes July 18. Since falling to Lewes 6-1 July 11 in the opening round, Milton has reeled off five straight wins against Millsboro, Lower Sussex, Nanticoke, Georgetown and now Lewes.

A rising freshman at Cape Henlopen High School, this honor roll student led the Lewes Yacht Club/Sussex Family YMCA swim team to a 485-127 victory over the Rehoboth Beach Country Club squad this week. Jack earned wins in the 100 individual medley and the 50 backstroke. He also swam to second for the 50 free in a blazing 25 seconds. Jack was a state finalist this winter season as an eighth-grader at Sussex Academy in the grueling 500 freestyle. He also swims for Sussex Family YMCA during the winter season, when he was a district champion in the 200 fly. Last summer, he was the summer league champ in the 50 back. "Jack is primed to have another great Delmarva Swim Association summer championships meet next week," said coach Mike Vansant. "He's a great swimmer and a great kid."

Two search warrants lead to four arrests in drug dealing investigation
LAUREL, Del. – Friday, the Laurel Police Department executed two search warrants in the Hollybrook Farms Apartment Complex, leading to four felony arrests. This was the culmination of two separate long-term drug dealing investigations, according to police. In their searches, they recovered a loaded firearm and hundreds of doses of heroin.

Colonial schools to expand access to AP for students with disabilities after federal probe
U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights has resolved a compliance review of Colonial School District. The resolution agreement announced Thursday stems from allegations the Delaware district was not providing students with disabilities equal access to Advanced Placement courses. The agreement now looks to ensure ongoing compliance with Section 504 and Title II, the office said in a press release, following its investigation.

State Chamber holds grand opening after renovation project

"The plot of land for One Commerce Center was originally donated to the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce by DuPont and has been the location we have called home since 1983. Crash Near Bridgeville Wednesday Morning Leaves Salisbury Man Dead
A two vehicle crash just before 1am Wednesday on Route 13 in the area of Newton Road north of Bridgeville has left a Salisbury man dead. Delaware State Police say a Durango was in a northbound lane on Route 13 and a Santa Fe was traveling the wrong way in the northbound lane. Both vehicles attempted to avoid a crash – both moving into the right northbound lane – and collided. Police say the Santa Fe overturned and ended up between the shoulder and the right northbound lane. The driver of the Santa Fe, 22 year old Djifenson Dorilus, of Salisbury was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries – he died from those injuries on Thursday. The driver of the Durango, a 46 year old Millsboro man was also taken to an area hospital with a serious injury.
