WEST JEFFERSON — The Democratic Women of Ashe held their second annual gala and fundraiser on Saturday, Aug. 24, at the Ashe Arts Center in West Jefferson. The event honored the late United States Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg. High Point Police giving out free wheel locks
HIGH POINT, N.C. — Are you anxious about car theft? The High Point Police Department is looking to help ease your worries. The police department is giving out free steering wheel locks on Tuesday, Aug. 27 in the Roy B. Culler Senior Center at 921 Eastchester Dr. in High Point. Drivers of Hyundai or Kia vehicles qualify for the wheel lock giveaway, according to the police department.
Local man overturns Escalade, arrested at scene
A local man was arrested after crashing the Escalade he was driving near Eastwood. According to N.C. Highway Patrol, the man was driving west on Juniper Lake Road near Highway 15-501 when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed the road, hit an embankment, collided with two tree and landed on the driver’s side.
