Williamsport, Pa. — A local caterer allegedly took payment of more than $3000 to cater a wedding but never followed through with food. William Dalton Welch, 47, claimed he was unable to cater the event in 2023 on the day the couple was to be married, according to the complaint. Welch owns B&C Catering in Williamsport. Bucknell to Open 2024-25 with Record Total Enrollment
Bolstered by a sophomore retention rate of 94.3%, Bucknell University will open its 179th academic year Monday, Aug. 26, with a record total enrollment for the fourth consecutive year. As of Aug. 20, the student body comprises 3,950 students, including 3,888 undergraduates, 36 graduate students and 26 non-degree students. Fidelity's move to Courthouse Square stalled by rising project costs
SCRANTON — More than two years after Fidelity Bank officials announced plans to relocate the company's headquarters to Courthouse Square, the project remains paused. The Dunmore-based bank purchased the eight-story Scranton Electric Building on Linden Street for $2.6 million and started demolition work; however, the cost of the project nearly doubled from $13 million, pre-COVID, to $25.8 million, bringing work to a halt, said Dan Santaniello, Fidelity's president and CEO.
