LARCHWOOD, IA (Dakota News Now) - The West Lyon Wildcats broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning of the Region 1 Semifinals against MOC-Floyd Valley, opening up a five run lead en route to a 7-4 victory to advance to the region final in the Iowa Class 3A State Softball playoffs on Thursday night in Larchwood.
Certain Residents Living Along Black Hawk Lake In Lake View Are Under Boil Advisory
Certain residents living along the south and east sides of Black Hawk Lake in Lake View have been placed in a boil advisory upon having their water returned. At 7:00 a.m. this (Saturday) morning, water to residents living at the intersection of East Shore Drive and Rolf Ave, west along South State Road to Gun Shot Hill, had water shut off while city crews came in to repair a water line, and will be placed in a boil advisory while water pressure returns. The advisory will remain in effect until Tuesday, when two test samples have returned with negative results for any contamination. Any water used for consumption must be boiled for at least two minutes, or use bottled water as an alternative. Water is still safe to use for laundry, showering, and basic cleaning.
