Inset: Christopher M. Morrison (Columbiana County Prosecutor). Background: Morrison in court (WKBN).

An Ohio man could spend the rest of his life in prison for the murder of his wife, who he shot in the head in the shower amid marital problems, then “chopped her up” and hid her dismembered remains in garbage bags in a shed on their property.

Christopher M. Morrison, 35, was sentenced for murder , tampering with evidence, possessing criminal tools, gross abuse of a corpse, and firearm specifications in the death of his wife, Tiffany Morrison, 34, Columbiana County Prosecutor Vito J. Abruzzino announced on Tuesday in a news release .

He’ll be eligible for parole after 25 years. He pleaded guilty in the case last month.

“Tiffany’s body was moved to an outside shed on the property. The hole in the shower was hidden and patched up,” said Assistant Columbiana County Prosecutor Ryan Weikart, local CBS affiliate WKBN reported. “A heinous and unimaginable act that shows his genuine lack of remorse.”

The victim’s mother, Ruth Mahley, testified to the impact of the killing.

“The anger, hurt, and disbelief were unimaginable. Our lives were shattered,” she said. “I find myself dialing Tiffany’s number and then hanging up when I realize with a heavy heart that I will never hear that sweet voice again.”

Morrison apologized and said he’ll forever regret it.

“Our children now have to go forward without either of us,” he said, the outlet reported. “And there is nothing I regret more. I’ll be sorry for this until my last breath.”

Columbiana County Common Pleas Court Judge Megan Bickerton scolded him, local affiliate WFMJ reported.

“You were arrogant, selfish and just demeaning to a woman whose life was lost,” the judge told him. “It wasn’t the reaction of a man who loved and cared about his wife. It was the reaction monster was trying to get away with murder.”

Tiffany Morrison died from a single gunshot wound to the head on Dec. 18, 2023, authorities said. The couple’s three young children and a 63-year-old woman were at the home when she was killed, local Fox affiliate WJW reported. After the murder, Christopher Morrison bought a saw, blades, rubbing alcohol, and trash bags to dispose of the body and hide the murder from law enforcement, prosecutors said.

The couple had been living together even though “they were experiencing difficulties in their marital relationship,” the Salem News reported, citing an affidavit.

During a hearing in July 2024, the defendant admitted to the crime under cross-examination, the East Liverpool Review reported.

“So you knew where she was. You shot her, chopped her up and left her in the shed,” Columbiana County Assistant Prosecutor Steve Yacovone asked the defendant.

      “Yes,” Morrison replied.
