Fatal Accident in Comanche County
A one-vehicle accident in Comanche County on Tuesday claimed two lives. According to the accident report from the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2015 Can-Am Spyder F3, tri-wheel motorcycle, was traveling south on Farm to Market Road 1496, six miles northwest of De Leon. The vehicle crossed the oncoming northbound land and into the shoulder, crossing a private driveway. The driver of the vehicle lost control and started into a side skid, striking a mailbox, and rolling, throwing off of the vehicle both the driver and passenger. Pronounced dead at the scene were the driver, Leslie Renae Mitchell, age 54, of De Leon; and passenger Nancy Menzdorf Chapman, age 68 of Stephenville.
