LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Lawrence County deputy was killed in a motor vehicle crash on Wednesday, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office said. “It’s with heavy hearts and deepest sympathies that we announce the sudden passing of Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputy Anthony Cutcher,” the sheriff’s office said in a social media post. “Earlier today, Deputy Cutcher was involved in a motor vehicle accident in Lawrenceburg, ultimately resulting in his passing.”

New Details Surrounding the Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash Saturday
NEW DETAILS SURROUNDING THE FATAL CRASH THAT KILLED TWO PEOPLE SATURDAY AFTERNOON IN LAWRENCE COUNTY. INTIAL REPORTS INDICATE A MAZDA CX3, DRIVEN BY CAITLIN PRICE, WAS TRAVELING NORTH ON HIGHWAY 43 IN THE AREA OF THE HIGHWAY 64 BYPASS IN LAWRENCEBURG AROUND 2:30 PM WHEN A CHEVROLET SILVERADO, DRIVEN BY HECTOR GULLERMO ORTIZ, TURNED LEFT IN FRONT OF THE MAZDA IN A HEAD ON MANNER, AS IT WAS TRAVELING SOUTH. THE MAZDA ROTATED COUNTER CLOCK WISE AND CAME TO A FINAL REST IN THE NORTH BOUND LANES FACING SOUTH. THE SILVERADO CAME TO FINAL REST IN THE ROAD FACING SOUTH. BOTH PRICE AND ORTIZ PERISHED AT THE SCENE. THREE JUVENILES WERE ALSO INJURED IN THE WRECK. THE TENNESSEE HIGHWAY IS INVESTIGATING THE CRASH.
