As I was clearing out my backpack from last week's final one-day camp of the summer - and, likely, the final one-day camp in July ever - I ripped out the pages of my notebook to put together with my other notes for safekeeping. While doing so, I found two tidbits that I had written down that I did not include in my post-camp BUZZ. Now, after a couple more Conversations this week, I felt like I could take those notes, add them to these, and throw together a quick "What I'm Hearing" on a few hot topics. Let's begin.

WASHINGTON STATE RELEASED its fall football roster on Tuesday and there are some notable weight changes and new numbers, There was also an unexpected departure. Linebacker Tristan Bohannon is not on the roster. THE 6-4, 215-pound second-year from Munford, Tenn., was injured all of last season and did not participate in spring ball. He has not been reported as entering the transfer portal so his departure may not be football-related.

It's August 1st and that means college football programs around the country can send out official offers to their top prospects in the Class of 2024. West Virginia is taking advantage of this date, just like most other programs, and sending out new graphics with a new official offer for their recruits. As the years have gone on, these official offers have evolved. In the beginning, they were done with a typewriter and put on paper, sent out via USPS mail. Eventually, coaches realized it was easier and quicker to send them digitally. The result? Graphics being sent to the inbox of recruits at 12:01AM on August 1st. A few years ago, those graphics also included a typed up message extending an official offer to the player. Now? Recruits typically just post the graphic for all to see. Check it out above.
