LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - A dog in armor sounds like something out of a dream, but for a K9 officer with the Lawton Police Department, it’s a reality. Our 7News team paid a visit to K9 officer Gwiazda, who was given an armored vest. It was donated from a fundraiser and embroidered with a message that honors K9s who have served and fallen last year.

LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - We’ll see mostly cloudy skies this Monday with temperatures remaining below average for this time of year. Typically we see highs in the triple digits to upper 90s (average exactly being 98°) however today we’ll see mid to upper 80s area wide. Northeast winds at 5 to 15mph. Coverage isn’t terribly high but with that said showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible. Brief heavy rain and gusty winds will be seen with most storms but severe weather is unlikely!

Shooting Incident at Econo Lodge Motel in Pryor Ends in Tragedy
PRYOR, Oklahoma ~ Last night, at approximately 9:39 PM, Pryor Creek Police Officers were dispatched to the Econo Lodge Motel on the south side of Pryor Creek in response to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim outside a motel room with two gunshot wounds to his upper body. Warrant issued for woman accused of exploiting elderly woman out of nearly $52,000
NEWKIRK — A warrant is issued for Tammy Dene Jones, 51, Enid, by the Kay County District Court. Jones is facing felony counts of exploitation of elderly and or disabled adult by deception and intimidation and computer fraud and or unlawful use of a computer system. Ponca City police report that Jones is accused of fraudulently obtaining $51,877.94 from a senior citizen.
