Maryland Department of Planning offering 'walkinars' in October
ANNAPOLIS — Every Thursday in October, the Maryland Department of Planning is offering a series of online classes aimed at pedestrian traffic; calling these sessions “walkinars.” Topics will include “Sidewalks to Safety,” which explores student safety to and from school, “Crafting Safe Spaces for Every Step with Every Trip,” which will explore the Maryland State Highway Administration’s ‘Complete Streets’ program and “Sustainable Growth,” that will look at walkability and its benefits for communities. Laurel residents receiving phony police scams, Laurel P.D. warns
LAUREL, Maryland — No, Laurel Police is not calling you asking for money. It's a scam, the police department in Prince George's County said Thursday. "We would like our residents to be aware that this is a scam," Laurel PD officials said Thursday. "No member of the Laurel Police Department will ever call to collect money."
