Casey’s is purchasing the CEFCO convenience stores for more than $1.145-BILLION dollars. Students gain hands-on experience at FEMA disaster prep exercise
Undergraduate students in FIU's Academy for International Disaster Preparedness (AIDP) participated in a simulation hosted by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) at Homestead Air Reserve Base in Florida. Key Team Police had another busy weekend policing the Bear Cut Bridge area. In separate incidents two men had to be arrested and another 25 were told to leave the area. On Saturday, Vincente Gonzalez, 29, of Miami was taken to Dade County Jail (D.C.J.). He was charged with two counts of battery on police officers, resisting arrest without violence and assault on police officers. He had pulled a gun on Detective Phil Masino and officer Marcy Dawson. The gun, although plastic, looked real in the shadows under Bear Cut Bridge according to reports. Thirty minutes after the above arrest, a fight broke out among 20-25 Latin males. They were ordered to leave the area.

This high pressure system will mean very light winds throughout the day which will allow a sea breeze or west wind to develop in the early afternoon. This along with some additional moisture will bring showers and thunderstorms once again to the area. Now the rain chance is at 50%, meaning not everyone is going to see these pop-up storms during the mid afternoon through the early evening.
