Monday morning, members of the Le Center community gathered in the Tri-City United/Le Center school gymnasium to honor those who serve, have served and contributed to the defense of the United States in the annual Memorial Day Ceremony.

Don Hayden, the master of ceremonies, led the program which began with the National Anthem, performed by Rita Sapp, and the Hoisting of the Colors by members of American Legion Post 108 and VFW Post 1803.

After an invocation by Pastor Heath Queen of the St. Paul EV Lutheran Church, Tri-City United senior Caleb Robrahn, the State Legion Oratorical third place contestant, delivered the Gettysburg Address.

The Memorial Day Address was delivered by Commander of VFW Post 5340 and MN VFW State Jr. Vice Commander, Edward J. Keogh.

After the Battle Hymn of the Republic and God Bless America were performed by the Legion and VFW Auxiliaries with Sapp accompanying them, Anita Janda and Paul Traxler read the Roll Call of the previous year's deceased Veterans.

A minute of Silent prayer gave way to the saluting of the deceased veterans as the Le Center Honor Guard fired their rifles followed by Taps, played on the trumpet by Taylor Engle.
