    Fireworks-related fire prompts safety reminder from Le Mars Fire Rescue

    LE MARS, Iowa (KCAU) — A fire that was caused by fireworks has prompted Le Mars Fire Rescue to issue a safety reminder.

    According to a post from Le Mars Fire Rescue , they battled a fire in a trash can Wednesday night that was caused by improperly discarded fireworks.

    Le Mars Fire Rescue said that after using fireworks, make sure you are placing them in a bucket of water and not directly into a trash can to avoid fires.

    They also mention that wherever you discard your fireworks should not be directly next to any buildings or structures to avoid structural fires.
