A bridge renamed after a local war hero harbors a nearly century old dark past. Two young Black men were hanged for alleged crimes, and one lived to tell the tale. A crowd of nearly 50 people gathered Aug. 11 to celebrate the renaming of a bridge in honor of a distinguished Navy war hero, Glenn H. Daigle, who grew up in the town of Labadieville.
