Marion woman's life turned upside down by fungal infections
MARION — On Thursday, Courtney Cirone was feeling very much under the weather and she is pretty sure she knows why. Cirone, 42, a few years ago was diagnosed with two fungal infections — blastomycosis and histoplasmosis — following the death of her cat, Diesel, who also was infected.
Kids receive free fishing rods at Luther Library summer reading program event
LUTHER — Over two dozen Lake County kids went home with new fishing poles and tackle boxes Wednesday, July 17. The Luther Area Public Library hosted its weekly Summer Reading program. With the assistance of the Pine River Association, well over a dozen kids were taught how to fish.
Lake City man sentenced after jury convictions on 9 CSC counts
LAKE CITY — A 56-year-old Lake City man convicted of nine counts of criminal sexual conduct by a Missaukee County jury was recently sentenced to a lengthy prison sentence. Jerel Lynn Grant was sentenced to at least 25 years in prison and up to 40 years with 65 days credit for three jury convictions to first-degree CSC, mentally disabled person — relationship. He also was sentenced to at least 10 years and up to 15 years with 65 days credit for six jury convictions to second-degree CSC, mentally disabled person — relationship. Grant also was sentenced as a fourth-offense habitual offender.
