No wake restriction lifted in Le Sueur County, except Washington
The lakes listed here have receded to the no wake restriction threshold and have maintained and/or continued to recede for three consecutive days. As of Saturday, July 20, the no wake restriction has been lifted on the following Le Sueur County Lakes: Gorman Lake; Lake Sakatah; Lake Tetonka; West Jefferson; Lake Emily; Middle Jefferson; East Jefferson; German Lake; Lake Francis; Rays Lake; Lake Volney. A no wake restriction will remain in effect for Lake Washington, as water levels have not yet receded to the threshold level. "No wake" is defined as operation of a watercraft at the slowest speed possible to maintain steerage, but in no case greater than 5 mph. The Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office will continually monitor lake levels and will issue notice on our Facebook Page as soon as the restriction is lifted.

Agropur in Le Sueur faces MPCA fine for industrial wastewater permit violations
Agropur Inc., doing business as Le Sueur Cheese Company, reportedly applied too much industrial byproduct, resulting in rates of nitrogen and phosphorus that exceeded the allowed limits by more than 10%. The violations occurred in 2022, near its cheese production facility in Le Sueur, Minnesota, according to a Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) enforcement investigation. Local families beat the heat with the Le Sueur Fire Department on Saturday during the Fire Hall open house. The event gave children a chance to meet area firefighters and tour the department’s fire trucks. A Montgomery Township couple in their 70s were pronounced dead Sunday morning after being trapped in a house fire.
