    LS-H track and field travels to compete in Giants Invitational

    Friday evening, the Le Sueur-Henderson track and field team traveled to Sibley East for the Giants Invitational. The boys team earned a fourth-place finish with 82 points while the girls claimed fifth with 49 points.

    Highlights for the girls began with Norah Renstrom claiming third in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:43.61 before she earned second in the 1600m run with a PR time of 5:43.02. The 4x100m relay team of Kaylee Berger, Riley Sater, Rita Flores and Sophia Sampson finished third with a time of 54.54.

    In the pole vault, Sater claimed first with a clear of 10 feet and six inches. Ashlyn Fischer finished third in the long jump with a leap of 14’2”.

    Boys highlights began with a pair of wins for Liam West in the 100m dash and 200m dash, posting times of 11.46 and 23.71 respectively. In the 1600m run, Owen Greisen finished third with a time of 5:05.36 before he claimed first in the 3200m run with a time of 11:28.14.

    Wyatt Genelin finished second in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.02. In the discus, David King finished third with a PR throw of 141’6” while Genelin claimed first in the high jump with a clear of 5’10”.

    The Giants are scheduled to return to action Thursday, May 16, when they travel to Central H.S. to compete in the Minnesota River Conference Championship meet.
