Le Center Fire Department hosts training, opens up volunteer applications

On Tuesday, The Le Center Fire Department had some smoke rolling with a basement fire simulator training. Blue Fire Training partnered with LCFD on the exercise.

Fun fact: Thermal imaging showed that the trailer fire reached over 1,000 degrees during the training.

RECRUITMENT

The Le Center Fire Department is now accepting applications for openings for the position of firefighter.

Qualifications

18 years or older.

Be able to complete an oral interview, physical agility test, and pass a criminal background check. Reside within a 6-minute response time to the Le Center Fire Hall. Must be able to attend all required monthly meetings and practices.

Training is paid by the Le Center Fire Commission.

Training consists of Firefighter I and Firefighter II certification, 1st Responder, and various other courses throughout your tenure.

Deadline: Applications can be picked up at the Le Center City Hall or contact a current firefighter. Applications must be turned into the Le Center City Hall no later than 4 p.m. Friday, June 21.

Interviews and physical agility tests will be conducted on Tuesday, June 25 at the Le Center Fire Hall.
