    TCU/LS-H swim and dive comes up just short against New Prague

    Tuesday night, the Tri-City United/Le Sueur-Henderson swim and dive team traveled to New Prague to face off against the Trojans in the annual battle of neighbors. Despite several top finishes spread throughout the evening, the Titans fell to New Prague 98-72.

    Ella Schmiesing picked up the victory in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:15.50 as well as the 100 butterfly race with a time of 1:00.18, a full 18.96 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.

    In the 50 freestyle race, Kendra Westphal claimed third with a time of 29.75 while Lily Traxler earned third in the diving competition with 173.15 points. Madelyn Ryan finished fourth in the 100 freestyle race with a time of 1:09.65 as Kaylee Rezac earned third in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:28.09.

    The 200 freestyle relay team of McKenna Fredrickson, Julia Odenthal, Ryan and Schmiesing finished first with a time of 2:02.93 while Westphal earned second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:17.34.

    In the 400 freestyle relay race, the team of Westphal, Rezac, Fredrickson and Schmiesing earned second with a time of 4:21.21, just 1.10 seconds behind the winning squad.

    TCU/LS-H is scheduled to return to the pool Tuesday, Oct. 1, when the team travels to Red Wing middle school to take on the Wingers. Events are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
