BRIDGMAN — The Dowagiac volleyball team went 1-2 at the Bridgman quad Monday night.

The Chieftains were defeated by Lakeshore 24-26 and 20-25, while they defeated Bridgman 17-25 27-25 15-13. Dowagiac lost to Decatur in its third match of the night, 25-14 18-25 10-15.

“Last night I was extremely proud of the performance by my team. We fought hard and went all out during each point,” said head coach Amber Todd. “We are working on improving our defense and it showed last night. Our next goal is to build on our offense and cut back on unforced hitting errors. As a whole we are really starting to play as a team, now we just need to build on consistency and finishing games.”

Dowagiac (10-14) will host Brandywine at 6 p.m. Thursday in Lakeland Conference play.
