    Hudson narrowly wins Big Rivers Conference boys golf title, Menomonie's Reckin takes individual crown

    The battle for the boys golf Big Rivers title went down to the wire at Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax Thursday. A jam-packed field saw the Hudson Raiders emerge as the victor for the team championship.

    Hudson finished with a team score of 311, one stroke better than Eau Claire Memorial who finished in second. Menomonie wasn’t far behind with a team score of 315 that placed the Mustangs third. River Falls was in fourth with a 318 while Chippewa Falls and New Richmond tied for fifth with a 319.

    Individually, Menomonie’s Tyler Reckin stood at the top of the mountain with a score of 70. The Mustangs sophomore finished four strokes better than New Richmond’s Cole Langeness and Memorial’s Will Schlitz. Memorial’s Tyler DeBruyckere was in a tie for fourth with a score of 75.

    Chippewa Falls had two players finished tied for sixth place. Freshman Eddie McCarron and junior Zander Maier each carded a 76. Eau Claire North’s Jack Wendtland was the Huskies top finisher, placing 18th after scoring an 81.

    Ladysmith, Chetek-Weyerhaeuser split Heart O’North boys golf title

    The Heart O’North boys golf conference championship held at Cumberland Golf Course ended in a draw Thursday. Ladysmith and Chetek-Weyerhaeuser each finished with a team score of 320, 12 strokes clear of third-place Northwestern.

    The Lumberjacks had the top three individual players. Dane Prohaska won the individual crown with a 75. Gavin Boehmer and Simon Cole, both sophomores, tied for second with a 77. Conner Hanson was Chetek-Weyerhaeuser’s top individual, placing fourth with a 78.
