While almost all regional softball matchups scheduled for Tuesday were pushed back to Wednesday, No. 2 McDonell and No. 7 Augusta were able to get their Division 4 regional matchup in after moving the start time up to 3:30 p.m. at Casper Park.

The Macks won 15-0 in four innings but couldn’t quite dodge the weather as the game went into a lighting delay before McDonell came to bat in the fourth already up 9-0. The game ultimately resumed and Macks scored the six runs needed to end the game in the fourth.

Katie Ruf was dominant in the outing. The McDonell pitcher struck out nine batters in four no-hit innings. Only one Beaver reached base, coming on an error.

McDonell had 10 hits, three of which came courtesy of shortstop Kelsey Bremness. The shortstop went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles while driving in three runs.

The Macks will host No. 3 Colfax or No. 6 Lake Holcombe/Cornell at Casper Park on Thursday.
