Struggling to overcome a slow start to the summer ski jumping season in Europe, U.S. Ski Team member Andrew Urlaub finally got on the Continental Cup scoreboard last weekend at Trondheim, Norway.

The 23-year old Flying Eagle placed 28th among 57 jumpers in back-to-back tournaments. He had jumps of 124-111.5 meters (407-366 feet) in the first meet and improved on that with rides of 124.5 and 127.5 meters (409 and 419 feet) on Sunday. Decker Dean, Colorado, led the U.S. by placing 16th and 18th.

The hottest U.S. jumper is Tate Frantz, New York, who placed third and sixth in Grand Prix tournaments at Wisla, Poland. Kevin Bickner, Chicago, took an 11th and Erik Belshaw, Colorado, had an 18th.
