    Huskies to induct three former athletes into Hall of Fame Friday

    There will be three new members inducted into the North High School Hall of Fame Friday evening during halftime of the Huskies’ football game against Stevens Point.

    The class consists of Mike Olson ‘94, a two time second place state wrestling tournament; football and baseball standout Greg Button ‘11; and Brock Holman ‘16, a pioneer wheelchair track division and multiple time state champion.

    Prior to kickoff Friday, there will be a reception to honor the inductees at 5:30 p.m. at the Pine Pavilion in Carson Park.

    Each North inductee had multiple athletic accomplishments during their playing days at the high school.

    Mike OlsonOlson is a 1994 North graduate who earned six letters in football and wrestling.

    Olson took second place in the 1993 and 1994 WIAA state wrestling tournaments. He was the 1993 Big Rivers Conference champion, two-time winner of the North High School Outstanding Wrestler Award and had a total of 88 victories.

    After graduating from North, he wrestled for Itasca Community College, where he was a two-time letter winner, NAIA national qualifier and member of the 1995 NAIA national championship team. He is a member of the Itasca College Athletic Hall of Fame.

    After college, Olson enlisted in the military and served 28 years with four deployments. He is now retired and lives in Evansville, Wisconsin, where he is active in all levels of wrestling.

    Greg ButtonGreg is a 2011 North High School graduate and earned eight letters in powerlifting, football, baseball and basketball.

    In powerlifting, he took second place competing in the 2008 national championship junior varsity 220-pound division.

    In baseball, Button was the 2010 Big Rivers Conference Pitcher of the Year and was a member of the 2011 baseball state championship team.

    In football, he was a two-time all conference first team selection, 2010 first team All Northwest and 2010 honorable mention all-state.

    Button took his football skills to Bemidji State University, where he was a three-year starter and in 2025 a first team all-conference selection.

    Brock HolmanHolman is a 2016 North High School graduate where he earned four letters in track and field.

    In 2010, the WIAA added the wheelchair division in track and field. Holman was a pioneer in the sport and participated in the 2013, 14, 15 and 16 state championships. There he was a two-time runner-up team champion, three-time state champion in the shot put, state champion in the 1,600 meters and six-time podium finisher in all other events.

    Holman continues to serve the Husky community as a member of the track and field coaching staff.
