This Colorado mountain town is a top July 4th destination

LEADVILLE, Colo. (KDVR) — If you are looking for a highly coveted spot for an Airbnb this July Fourth weekend, look no further than Leadville.

Airbnb released its top hot spots for the Fourth of July , and Leadville nabbed the No. 4 ranking. According to Airbnb, 87% of users say location is most important when booking a family vacation.

This weekend, the “Two Mile High City” is once again hosting the Leadville Race Series Silver Rush 50-mile run and 50-mile mountain bicycle race.

“The thought is: If we get people to stay here overnight, that will help us out with our economic impact,” race director Tamira Jenlink said.

The 50-mile run is Saturday. The 50-mile mountain bike race is Sunday.

Leadville is about an hour and 40-minute drive from Denver.

Airbnb’s top spot? Pocono Township, Pennsylvania.
