FGI Dallas 'Rising Star Awards' Returns May 10th at Galleria Dallas, Honoring the Best in Fashion, Beauty and More

Fashion Group International of Dallas (FGI Dallas) — a global, non-profit, professional organization that promotes the fashion industry — will celebrate the best in emerging, local talent in both fashion and its related industries, at its annual 'Rising Star Awards' celebration May 10th at 6:30pm at Galleria Dallas (The Alley, next to Blue Fish at 13350 Dallas Parkway, Dallas, TX 75240).

Heading into its 27th year of tradition, the renowned organization is honored to spotlight and recognize the outstanding talents and achievements of emerging designers, entrepreneurs and professionals in the following categories: Fashion Design, Accessories, Beauty, Retail, and Fashion Styling.

"As the premier professional organization serving the Fashion, Beauty, Art and Design Communities, Fashion Group International of Dallas proudly spotlights and supports new and developing local talent each year," said Nerissa Helpenstill, Regional Director for FGI Dallas. “We are elated to celebrate our 2023 honorees this year at Galleria Dallas, and look forward to a beautiful evening amongst our fashion industry peers, supporters, stakeholders, and friends.”

FGI Dallas is thrilled to present this year’s theme, Supernova, which embodies the energy and radiance of each Dallas Rising Star nominee — as they shine bright and illuminate the industry with their incredible bodies of work. Presented by Galleria Dallas, attendees will have the opportunity to network, while savoring bites from Mi Cocina and non-alcoholic beverages by Ritual Zero Proof.

The event will showcase the work of the nominees, and culminate thereafter with one winner being chosen per category as the 2023 Rising Star Honoree by FGI Dallas. The Rising Star Awards contenders are individuals who have worked for less than six years in the industry, and exhibit outstanding levels of creativity, innovation and business acumen. The winners are chosen by FGI Dallas members, who are accomplished professionals in the fashion industry, spanning designers, fashion journalists, buyers, retail owners, and a slate of other experts.

Award Categories and Nominees Include:

Fashion Design: Valerie Garmino, Melissa Taylor, and MUNELLE DE VIE.

Fashion Styling: Marissa Birdi Styling, VEA Style, and Dexter James.

Beauty: Glam Haus Collective, Bully Blocker, and About Face Pros.

Accessories: Diadem Jewelry, Elizabeth Hooper Studio, and Baronessa Fine Jewelry.

Retail: Enlighten and MKT Stores.
